Mrs. Gwendolyn Godfrey Gray, 77, of 2030 Mercer Mill Rd., Elizabethtown, NC transitioned Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC. 
 

Viewing- Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Johnson’s Funeral Service, Elizabethtown, NC.
 

Visitation- The family will receive friends at the home of Earnest Gray, 102 N. Morehead St. Elizabethtown, NC. 
 

Survivors- three sons, Earnest Gray of Elizabethtown, NC, Andre Gray(Tarus) of Waynesville, NC and Sean Gray of Georgia, three daughters, Natasha Gray(Mike) of Georgia, Nicole Gray of Whiteville, NC and Tabitha Cromartie(Andre) of Elizabethtown, NC, one brother, Jerry Purdie(Barbara) of Abottsburg, NC, 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. 
 

Funeral- Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 11:00am at Willie E. Johnson Memorial Chapel on the facility of Johnson’s Funeral Service, 207 S. Pine St. Elizabethtown, NC. Eulogy by Rev. Dr. Michael McKinley, Pastor of Royal Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Ivanhoe, NC. 
 

Burial- Mt. Olive Church Cemetery, Elizabethtown, NC.
